Robert Parker "Something new from the mayor is a cuvee sold only in France, the 2005 La Mirande, which actually is outstanding and seemingly more structured and tannic than his other two cuvees that are commercialized throughout the world. It is dark ruby and reveals plenty of black cherry and currant fruit along with hints of fig, licorice, and smoke. It is a beautiful wine, but it could require 1-2 years of cellaring and in this case, would last up to a decade. The charismatic mayor of Chateauneuf du Pape, Jean-Pierre Boisson, bottles early and makes some of the most delicious and alluring wines of the appellation. They are not meant for long-term aging, but rather to be drunk in their first 5-8 years of life. Hence, these were all in bottle when I tasted them. Don’t expect much color, but that belies the sweetness and richness of fruit in the wines."

Domaine d'Andezon Cotes du Rhone 2006 -- There is something irresistably comforting about a Rhone Red. Trying to explain why its so good is like trying to explain the deliciousness of meatloaf - you just have to try it to understand. And this is the perfect place to start! Robert Parker . . .
Domaine de Couroulu Vacqueyras Cuvee Classique 2005 -- "Another reference point estate in Vacqueyras, for many years these wines have given me considerable pleasure. Representing what might be called the bottled essence of Provence, they are always filled with peppery herbs dominated by black cherry and cassis . . .
Domaine de Villeneuve Chateauneuf-du-Pape "Les Vieilles Vignes" 2005 -- "Dense and chewy, with a tannic spine that holds sway over the black currant, fig and loganberry notes for now. Additional hints of charcoal, graphite and espresso frame the finish, but this will need time to fully integrate. Best from 2011 through 2030." . . .
Domaine Pélaquié Laudun Côtes du Rhône 2005 -- This beautiful deep garnet red wine presents a strong spicy, fruit-filled nose. On the palate, it is powerfully structured with berries and tannins.

Verget Au Fil du Temps NV -- Au Fil du Temps translates to "as time goes by," and the idea behind this wine was to take the excess juice from Verget reds and blend it together into a friendly "bistro red." This bottling is a blend of Grenache and Carignan with a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon. . . .
